The Role:

  • Deputise for DRACAS Manager when required.
  • Focus managing the AJAX programme DRACAS toolset
  • Work with the Reliability team to mature the DRACAS process
  • Work with the Root Cause Analysis Team, vehicle Chief Engineers and Functional Leads to determine Failure Modes and reliability relevance of DRACAS incidents
  • Work with external Customers and Stakeholders to confirm that the reliability sentencing and Failure Modes are being consistent
  • Work with key supplier, General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS), Lockheed Martin (LMUK) and Thales to support Joint Incident Review Boards (IRB) and incident sentencing
  • Support the RGT Planning Manager with preparation of the RGT Plans
  • Support the RCAT Manager with root cause analysis

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for and attend the daily Incident sentencing Committee (ISC)
  • Prepare for and attend the Joint IRBs with GDELS, LMUK and Thales
  • Prepare for and attend the formal ISC with Customer and external stakeholders
  • Support updating and maintaining the DRACAS report
  • Support updating and maintaining the Reliability Case report
  • Support updating and maintaining the Reliability Model for demonstrated reliability, predictions and Critical Items List
  • Support updating and maintaining a Lifed Items list
  • Support preparation of the RGT Spares Plan
  • Support the RGT Planning Manager to Maintain Growth Curves for demonstrated and predicted vehicle reliability
  • Preparation of material for internal and external review and presentation
  • Effectively communicate updates to the DRACAS Manager
  • Ad hoc Reliability activities

Education/Experience:

  • A proven track record of complex system integration, test and acceptance programmes
  • Experience of planning and implementation of DRACAS in support of reliability growth trials
  • Experience of engineering platform designs against performance and reliability targets
  • Experience of military vehicle systems
  • Ability to liaise with, and present information to, multi-disciplined and multi-national team members
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written skills
  • Willing to travel extensively within UK and Europe
  • Good team working abilities
  • Ability to communicate at senior levels
  • A relevant or associated degree to the role such as Engineering, Mathematics or Physics, or demonstrated relevant work experience
  • A strong background in defence systems engineering
  • Familiarity with current British Army tracked and wheeled vehicles
  • Familiar with relevant Defence Standards, Military Standards and EC Directives
  • Working knowledge of the DRACAS process and associated tools
  • Working knowledge of RGA 10 for reliability predictions and planning
