Principal Engineer - SIF C&I

We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Engineer - SIF C&I at our site in Barrow.

As a Principal Engineer - SIF C&I, you will be responsible for the test and acceptance of software from a range of suppliers that is integral to the overall operation and control of the submarine.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a new facility, within a diverse team. This affords the opportunity to develop and own new pieces of work and then enhance BAE's capability through software development.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Engineer - SIF C&I will involve:

Dealing with technical documentation

Creating technical presentations

Calculations

Test procedures and facilities

Attending factory acceptance tests

Functional System Diagrams

Software Coding

Your skills and qualifications as a Principal Engineer - SIF C&I:

Good technical background & experience of working in the Defence, Space, Nuclear, or other high-assurance industry

Good technical knowledge of Electronics, Communications Systems and Applications

Understanding of PLCs

Understanding of SCADA/Distributed Control Systems

Understanding of engineering design lifecycle and verification/validation

Technical report writing skills
