Engineer - Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)

Would you like to demonstrate your positive, enthusiasm and open minded attitude in a role where you will have the potential to learn and develop your skills? We currently have a vacancy for an Engineer - ILS at our site in Barrow.

As an Engineer - ILS, you will report directly to the Logistic Support Information (LSI) Principal Project Engineer. You will be working in a cross-project capacity, however the primary responsibilities will be the Astute and Dreadnought projects. The role will comprise of standard LSI duties as defined by the relevant Defence Standards. The outputs for your role will be recorded and held within the EAGLE PS LSAR database. Knowledge of this database would be preferred though it is not essential as training will be provided.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in integrated logistic support systems, understanding how and why things work. This is an in depth role within maintenance. As the team grows, you could have the opportunity for further development.

Your main responsibilities as an Engineer - ILS will involve:

Working on and completing work packages to the required departmental style guides and quality checks

Attending Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) studies when required

Updating specific departmental databases to support IETP build and Boat build deadlines

Assisting in other areas of the department as and when required

Liaising with other departments across the business

Your skills and qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the application (EAGLE PS) is preferred but not essential
  • Computer literate across all packages
  • Experience in an engineering related discipline or have equivalent practical experience in a similar role within another organisation
  • Knowledge of the product is preferred

    You will possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal. You will be working as part of a team with good attention to detail and computer skills. A practical and approachable manner will be required to be successful in this position.
