Senior Engineer - Human Factors

Would you like to play a key role in assessing and evaluating Human Factors related issues within the complicated and challenging submarine environment? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer - Human Factors at our site in Frimley.

As a Senior Engineer - Human Factors, you will undertake risk assessment and mitigation studies, develop reports and gain agreement with other systems engineering disciplines to ensure that all classes of submarines can meet their Objectives. Particular attention shall be paid to system design, operability and safety issues.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with experts on some of the greatest technical challenges within Human Factors.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer - Human Factors will involve:

Providing Human Factors input to Complex Systems & Support (CSS) projects and producing and maintaining CSS HFI plans and processes

Carrying out HFI activities at all stages of the systems design lifecycle

Supporting activities in identifying future business opportunities and preparing bids

Supporting the promotion of HFI methodology within Submarines CSS

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Engineer - Human Factors:

Essential:

Degree/equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, such as Human Factors (Ergonomics) or other engineering with Human Factors modules

Broad Human Factors knowledge, with proven ability to conduct and support work packages in Human Factors disciplines

Ability to progress Human Factors within large, multidisciplinary project groups

Experience in implementing Human Factors within a safety critical industry

Desirable:

Registered Member/working towards Registered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors

Defence Industry experience
