Working with us 

From engineers to accountants, retail assistants to cleaners, jointers to IT technicians and marketeers to project managers, we’re all guardians of Guernsey’s electricity and leading the energy transition. 

Our power station isn’t only responsible for generating to top up the imported electricity. It is a central control centre for our Island’s network, and it carefully manages the supply from imported electricity via our subsea cable, renewable energy generated on our island through our community solar panels and the electricity we generate at the power station. 

Our network then distributes this electricity across the Island, ensuring sustainable and reliable power is reaching our customers and community to power our kettles to phone chargers and TVs to streetlights. We are responsible for maintaining the vast and complex network. 

We deliver domestic and commercial electrical services as well as innovative energy solutions. We’ll install anything from the installation of a socket in your home to air source heat pumps, and underfloor heating to vehicle charging points. We’re on a journey helping more and more customers switch to electric heating, leading the energy transition.

The future is electric. As we’re planning for the Island’s future needs, we’re also proactively strategically reviewing and developing our future for this network, whether it’s a subsea cable or more on island renewables. 

A direct connection to France 

This will enable us to meet all our islands current and future needs from low carbon electricity and the power station will be used for emergencies only. 

20MW of local PV 

We believe that everyone on Guernsey should be able to use and benefit from renewable electricity and have some of the largest community scale solar arrays installed in the Channel Islands which feed renewable electricity into the grid.  

Power to the People 

To support our local community and spread the positive energy wider, we have a ‘Power to the people’ initiative to provide funding or our time and skills to support local projects, initiatives or charities that benefit the environment and local community.
