Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer
You will be the rotating equipment engineering authority EA2 reporting to the discipline Technical Authority TA to safeguard, support and assure the Integrity and process safety of our assets, providing rotating equipment engineering support to and assurance of the delivery of capital projects. This role leads the delivery of rotating equipment engineering activities and supports the development of resource and capability plans in support of Spirit Energy’s business requirements.
Providing service to and collaborating closely with lead engineers, maintenance engineers, operations managers and project managers you will review safety critical elements and advise assets on their suitability and sufficiency. Providing performance monitoring and troubleshooting engineering support rotating equipment systems and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, improve reliability, and reduce operating costs is key to the role as you provide qualified engineering advice and approval of engineering change Management of Change MoC, maintenance deferrals, ORA's etc. as per the authorisation / approval levels dictated by our engineering standards.
You will write and approve performance standards for safety critical elements and planned maintenance and inspection regimes, and any proposed material changes to existing regimes. Supporting plant MoC requests from screening of requests, definition of SORs and technical assurance and support through execution you will also technically assess proposals for the use of temporary changes to plant, temporary repairs, operational risk assessments and maintenance deferrals. A requirement of this key role is to proactively support and participate in equipment failure investigations and ensure compliance to Spirit-Energy technical standards providing interpretation of national and international engineering standards, recommending practices, guidelines and codes of practice. Maintaining discipline critical documentation and advising the Lead Engineer of deviations and non-conformances to spirit Energy Standards and Engineering codes is also required.
We require someone with a relevant engineering or science degree and ideally a chartered engineer.
You will be an experienced senior rotating equipment engineer operating in client/operator roles in the management of contractors / suppliers with active involvement in the application of quality assurance and quality control. You will need to be able to bring groups of diverse individuals together and drive innovative solutions
