Nortech supplies remote monitoring products and services to power utilities, generators and system integrators. Our flagship software platform iHost™ enables utilities to extend their data collection and control systems deep into the power network, allowing renewable generators to connect to the grid. Nortech’s technology is an enabler for the transition to low carbon power networks.
We are currently recruiting for a Network Innovation Engineer. You will be joining a team of talented technology enthusiasts who design and support systems, shaping the future of low carbon power networks.
Reporting to the Network Innovation Manager, you will support with the delivery of high-profile innovation projects (such as the demonstration of novel energy storage technologies, electric vehicle control systems and active network management of low carbon technologies).
Project management responsibilities include the day-to-day running of the projects, monitoring delivery progress, supervision of budgets, managing key project risks and the management of key delivery partners and suppliers.
Technical responsibilities will include equipment specification and procurement, product development, witness testing, data analysis and application support.
As part of the Network Innovation team, you will support the delivery of products and services for the monitoring, control and analysis of electrical distribution systems from 132kV through to LV. Responsibilities will include business development, supporting bids for new work, writing project proposals and quoting customers for work.
To be considered you must:
- Have a good degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience working in the UK electricity industry
- Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Possess excellent organisational and project management skills
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Ideally have power systems engineering knowledge and experience
We will actively support individuals working towards or currently holding Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution.
A “can do” attitude is essential, as is your ability to work using your own initiative and as part of small teams. You should be a self-starter and a completer-finisher.
You will be based in our Pershore (Worcestershire) office with travel to our Birmingham office and some national UK travel to meet with Nortech’s customers.
