What’s the opportunity?
  • An opportunity has arisen in the UK for an IIC Manager to join an established multi-national team working in the export domain.
 
What is the Purpose of this role?
  • Provide leadership and/or specialist expertise in the co-ordination of significant industrial co-operation proposals for medium–high value/risk/complexity sales campaigns primarily for MBDA UK but could include campaigns for MBDA France and MBDA Italy.
  • To act as the IIC co-ordinator for air launched weapons industrial offers.
 
What will you be doing?
Bid Phase
  • Provide leadership and/or specialist expertise to co-ordinate significant industrial co-operation proposals for medium–high value/risk/complexity sales campaigns.
  • Identify strategic opportunities for harmonisation of IIC offers across the MBDA weapons portfolio.
  • Responsible for the identification and engineering of direct and semi –direct offset projects to maximise MBDA export prospects.
  • Responsible for the overall commercial integrity, validity and competitiveness of the industrial co-operation offer.
  • Identification of key industrial partners who can play an influential role in-country to promote MBDA and our products, whilst being able to satisfy the campaign/ programme quality and cost criteria.
  • Secure appropriate approvals of industrial co-operation packages through all internal stakeholders, in accordance with the Business Winning process.
  • Preparation and delivery of campaign reports into the IIC Management Team.
     
    Execution Phase
  • Negotiating and agreeing IIC contracts with international customers and partners that are deliverable and commercially viable for MBDA.
  • Being accountable for ensuring delivery of Offset contracts to time and cost.
  • Responsible for gaining customer acceptance that offset obligations are achieved during contract execution.

Who and what we are looking for from you?
  • Degree level or equivalent in an engineering and/or business discipline
  • Significant knowledge and experience of the defence sector and the competitive environment
  • Knowledge of the international offset regulations
  • Knowledge of the MBDA portfolio
  • A business, technical, commercial background and experience gained through bid/B&PM control or management, project control, commercial /contracts
  • Excellent communication, presentation and project development/management skills
  • Very good understanding and experience of dealing with the customer community
  • Professional, articulate, credible and a consensus builder
  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills, applicable both internally and externally
  • Able to understand what is required to meet internal and external (domestic and export) customer requirements and develop and implement solutions where these may conflict with the buy-in of all stakeholders
  • Knowledge of air launched weapons would be advantageous but not essential.
  • You must be flexible and be prepared to travel overseas – and work to demanding timescales;
  • You must be a UK national.
