Hardware Engineering at Rochester is a world-leading developer of high performance & high integrity avionics equipment. We currently have a number of technical and managerial opportunities for electronics and FPGA engineers to join this dynamic and innovative team, ranging from junior through to lead designers and team leader positions.

Our engineers are an essential element of integrated product development teams, responsible for the design and certification of our leading-edge, world-class products.

Key responsibilities and essential skills:

Responsible for the delivery of electronics design solutions, as a designer you will possess knowledge and experience of digital and/or analogue electronics circuit design, schematic capture tools (e.g. Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise), design simulation (e.g. Simetrix or SPICE) and/or modelling (e.g. Modelsim or Matlab), design analysis methods, preparing design documentation, circuit card commissioning and product integration.

As an FPGA designer you will be experienced in the design and verification of Field Programmable Gate Array and/or Programmable Logic Devices. Typically, you will possess knowledge and experience of functional partitioning, VHDL coding, FPGA design suites (e.g. Xilinx Vivado), formal verification (e.g. QuestaSim, System Verilog, Universal Verification Methodology).

As a team leader, you will provide technical guidance & managerial direction to the design team. Your proven work package, risk/opportunities management skills and coaching abilities ensure development activities are delivered to achieve functional performance, cost and schedule requirements. In addition to these abilities, you will have a good awareness of the engineering lifecycle.

Desirable skills:

Familiarisation with safety-critical applications, military or industrial hardware design, design standards such as RTCA DO-254 or DEF-STD 00-54/55/56 would be advantageous to you.

Electronic Engineering related HND/Degree or equivalent

Salary: Competitive - dependent on experience
