Would you like to play a leading technical support role in a high profile joint UK / US project? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer at our site in Barrow-In-Furness.

As a Senior Engineer, you will act as a technical expert and liaison working with a mixed team of US and UK peroneal incorporating US strategic systems into a UK designed platform

This highly visible role will provide you with the opportunity to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders from both the UK and US industry and government.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer:

Act as the Subject Matter Expert within the Strategic Weapon Organisation for Strategic Weapons Support Systems.

Understanding of US designed systems and Design Authority / Technical Authority responsibilities.

Understanding of how US / UK interfaces are controlled and managed in a build environment

Working with on-site US representatives to identify problems and produce engineering solutions to support the build programme.

Your skills and qualifications:


Understanding of US designed systems required to support Strategic Weapons Systems.

Experience of engineering problem solving in a real time environment

Excellent stakeholder management

Electrical/Systems Engineering background


Understanding of UK - US Government to Government arrangements

An understanding of MS Office and other business IT tools used on the Dreadnought project.

You will have excellent communication and all round stakeholder management skills with the ability to build good working relations at all levels whilst being able to push back where appropriate. A proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail is essential to the success of this role

Location: Barrow-In-Furness

Salary: £34,708 +
