We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Operations Engineer Maintenance at our site in Barrow
The Barrow site is currently undergoing extensive redevelopment and expansion. This role will see you on the front line of our Site and Facilities team.
Site Maintenance ensures facilities are maintained to statutory requirements set out by HSE, ONR (office of Nuclear regulations) and the Environment Agency. Part of this role is to liaise with service providers and enforcing authorities to ensure customer requirements are met.
The primary purpose of the role is the production and co-ordination of technical information and programmes; Production of Process Instructions and new initiatives.
This can include anything from various types of cranes through to various types of machine tools. This work must include consideration of applicable legislation and regulations to ensure that the correct maintenance schedule is established.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Operations Engineer Maintenance will involve:
Ensuring compliance to statutory requirements relevant to site and facilities infrastructure
Reviewing both internal and external safe systems of work, (Risk Assessments etc.)
Supporting the development of department processes, ensuring that plant and facilities are maintained to a high standard and are in a safe and efficient condition
Producing appropriate department documentation. Including the development and review of Process instruction, illustrated guides etc.
Developing innovative process solutions, working to the RCM (Reliability Centre Maintenance) principles
Developing and mentoring new employees and team members, providing peer support
Understanding, developing and implementing greater customer and external relations
Your skills and qualifications:
Mechanical or Electrical or Pipe trade background, (experience or qualification) Building trade, construction industry knowledge, in relation to the maintenance and upkeep of facilities, Roofs drainage systems etc
Knowledge or at least recognition of one or more of the following:
- Standards including safety and environmental and building regulations for example of 17th Edition/Building regulations
- Statutory Regulations LOLER (Lifting of Loads and Equipment Regulations)
- PSSR (Pressure Safety Systems Regulations) Legionella etc
An Understanding of health & safety and knowledge of risk assessments
Knowledge of SHE statutory and regulatory requirements
Experience of Microsoft packages, office and excel
Awareness of CDM REGS - Construction Design Management (the governance of construction projects
Pipe/ Mechanical / Electrical / Building Apprenticeship
Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance techniques - RCM
Knowledge of CAMM Systems - Computerised Maintenance Management System.
Use of specialist packages such as MS Project, MS Visio, Auto CAD/Sketch
HNC within Engineering
SHE Qualifications IOSH / NEBOSH
