Radio Frequency Research Engineer

Would you like to provide both technical input into programmes and assist with identifying new areas of work? We currently have a vacancy for a Radio Frequency Research Engineer at our site in Great Baddow.

As a Radio Frequency Research Engineer, you will be taking an active role in the framework management activities.

This role will require you to work at the customer site in central London, and will require the ability to work independently at the customer's direction.

Your main responsibilities as a Radio Frequency Research Engineer will involve:

Working with a team of multi-disciplined scientists and / or engineers to execute projects for customers

Being self-motivating and able to work at the customer site with remote line management

Assisting with the development of new business opportunities and participate in the timely generation of high quality, well planned and innovative bids with an acceptable level of risk

Engaging with customers and Applied Intelligence (AI) Labs management on a daily basis

Developing & maintaining key business relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers and external institutions to support new business and awareness of the state-of-the-art

Ensuring that all projects are undertaken in line with AI Labs process & governance

Your skills and qualifications:

A 2:1 degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g. Electronic/Electrical Engineering)

A higher degree or equivalent in a relevant area would be advantageous

Member of a relevant professional body, preferably a Charter Engineer or equivalent, would be advantageous

Solid grounding in engineering with significant experience in an engineering or technology based environment, working on complex, multi-disciplinary projects

Radio Frequency (RF) and Microwave frequency engineering background, particularly related to radar systems

Experience in digital signal processing techniques and the ability to design and analyse processing architecture relating to radar systems

Working knowledge of one or more programming languages is essential, preferable C/C++, Matlab, Java

You will be able to understand, influence and talk with credibility (in terms of engineering principles) about areas of technology outside of own area of specific expertise, as well as be highly motivated with the ability to quickly digest and apply new concepts and develop novel solutions to challenging problems.

Location: Great Baddow with regular travel to London (2-3 days a week)
