Head of Quality

Would you like to work in an exciting and critical role within the newly formed Land (UK) business area? We currently have a vacancy for a Head of Quality which can be based from any of our Land (UK) sites namely Telford, Glascoed, Radway Green or Washington.

As the Head of Quality, you will be working with the MD and Senior Leadership Team for the Land (UK) business with responsibilities for setting the direction of the function as well as leading Quality strategies across the business. The role will assume responsibility for identifying and making significant cost saving improvements across the manufacturing and service sites, supporting achievement of world class manufacturing and delivery streams.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in a complex and rewarding environment.

Your main responsibilities as the Head of Quality will involve:

Delivery of Land (UK) Quality and Product Safety Improvement Plan

Conduct learning from experience and benchmarking reviews for Quality and Product Safety to seek best practice both within BAE and externally and embed within the business

Establish metrics and performance monitoring systems to provide management with quantifiable results from improvement initiatives.

Provide assurance that the Quality Management System is effective and protects Land (UK)s certification and Internal Audit Programme.

Optimise the Quality organisation, including roles, responsibilities and competencies in the department, providing leadership and direction to achieve progress from diverse teams.

Establish and maintain appropriate guidance and support on quality policy, including identifying process improvement and risk management.

Support and drive the quality management strategy and plans, including planning, resource, systems, timescales and financial aspects.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Demonstrable experience in Continuous Improvement within a Quality environment

Proven experience of implementing best practice across multiple sites

Experience of operating at a Senior level within a complex business with Quality as a key focus area.

Highly motivated and a robust character

Desirable:

Member of the CQI - Chartered Quality Institute

Six Sigma and lean manufacturing experience

Location: Flexible across our Land (UK) sites, preferred location at Telford or Glascoed
