Would you like to play a key role in the development of electrical systems for Royal Navy ships? We currently have a vacancy for an Engineer - Control Systems at our site in either Scotstoun or Filton.
As an Engineer - Control Systems, you will be assisting with the design and development activities for Platform Management Systems (PMS) within a maritime environment. You will be providing design input to the subcontractor and assurance that the architecture and detailed design are fit for purpose.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on a range of Naval platforms from small boats to complex warships. You will also have the chance to develop as an engineer, take on further training and have the potential to obtain Chartered status in the future.
Your main responsibilities as an Engineer - Control Systems will involve:
Providing design oversight within own team
Providing and producing calculations, as required, to justify a proposed course of action
Operating, utilising and optimising the functionality of the appropriate tools and techniques as appropriate
Communicating with customer representatives, classification authorities and suppliers in writing, by telephone and in face-to-face meetings, and with other internal functions as necessary to discuss technical issues and problems
Producing procedures and/or process instructions to characterise the work of the team, including pre-requisite inputs from other functions and the outputs that can be expected from the process
Your skills and qualifications as an Engineer - Control Systems:
Degree or equivalent in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
Understanding of design principles and approaches relevant to design activities
Knowledge of marine systems
Electrical design experience

You must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical information to a range of stakeholders. You must also possess a good team work ethic, alongside the ability to work well with individually.
Location: Scotstoun or Filton with travel
