Electronic Engineering is a department with an international reputation for excellence in research and teaching. We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer to build upon existing strengths in autonomous systems and robotics and to contribute to research, teaching and administration. You will have a proven international research record and should possess a clear research vision across the area of autonomous systems and robotics. You will contribute to the department's growing research reputation and wider impact in this area in addition to designing, developing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across a range of related subjects.
Key requirements for the post are:
- A PhD in electrical, electronic engineering or computer science or equivalent experience;
- Experience of practical work in robotics and mechatronics;
- Proven ability to contribute to high quality research which is publicly evidenced;
- Experience of taking responsibility for teaching and learning at undergraduate and ideally postgraduate level;
- Ability to supervise the work of others.
The role requires you to:
- Individually and collaboratively develop research projects and proposals, contributing to the production of research outputs and research outcomes;
- Design, develop and deliver teaching across a wide range of modules and within a particular programme or subject area;
- Undertake effectively a range of administrative and managerial responsibilities.
This is a full time position (37 hours per week) and the salary will be within the range of £38,832 - £47,772 per annum on Grade 7 of the University of York’s salary scales.
