Summary of Role:

Raytheon UK has an opportunity for an experienced IT professional to fill the role of Senior IT Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery Manager (BCP&DR) within the Information Assurance, Security and Compliance (IASC) Group, as a component of RSL’s IT function. The IT function is responsible for the delivery of core support services to all UK based divisions to successfully enable operational business and operational delivery.

This highly influential operational, assurance and compliance role is responsible for providing leadership in coordinating, assessing, developing & communicating IT BC&DR requirements and contingency plans that will with the company’s Business Units to protect the firm in the event that information technology resources are unavailable due to an unforeseen disruption. Provide very complex project leadership between the technology groups and other company business units, emphasizing regular direct communication with application support management.

Main Duties:

  • Develop a Raytheon UK wide IT BCP&DR strategy encompassing all business programmes and functions.
  • Develop and write IT BCP&DR policies, procedures and plans at UK enterprise level and evolve as necessary.
  • Develop DR technical strategies for IT applications and services to meet Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) target of a service.
  • Engage with ITLT members and other leadership stakeholders on IT BCP&DR matters.
  • Provide documentation and training to all employees having a need to understand the IT BCP&DR process and their intended outcomes.
  • Contribute to the planning and conduct of Raytheon UK cross function Business Continuity exercises.
  • Provide quality assurance of Disaster Recovery Planning via periodic reviews and tests of established IT BCP&DR plans and procedures, reporting findings to management and making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Provide inputs to the IT Risks and Issues processes.
  • Support and internally audit IA related activities, and producing reports for auditing purposes.
  • Identify and communicate BCP/DR associated risks to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Support sales bids by writing the IT BCP&DR sections of bid documents.
  • Review IT and programme technical designs as required and make recommendations for compliance with customer, regulatory and legal IT BCP&DR requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships and effective alignment across functions and businesses in Raytheon UK, Raytheon International counterparts, and Partner/Subcontractor community to enable continuously improving and efficient delivery of Services.
  • Support the Raytheon business by representing Raytheon at industry forums and events.
  • Deliver cross functional improvement projects were applicable utilising the Raytheon 6 Sigma methodology.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Specialist Member of the Business Continuity Institute (SBCI) and Certified Information Systems Auditor(CISA), or equivalent certification or equivalent formal training and experience successfully utilising established business continuity methodologies
  • Experience of BCP/DR activities with proven experience at senior security BCP/DR subject matter expert level or higher.
  • Excellent time management, report writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer facing skills with UK nationals and international employees and agencies.
  • BC/DR Auditing Certificate i.e. BS25999 Internal Auditor.
  • Knowledge of formal architectural methods.
  • Ability to understand and analyse complex business problems in order to define and develop technology-based solutions.
  • Demonstrable evidence of effective problem solving skills in complex support incidents.
  • Excellent customer facing skills with UK nationals and international employees and agencies.
  • Excellent relationship skills - the ability to build positive relationships with both technical and business personnel.
  • Experience of negotiation and conflict management skills in a complex matrix structure.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and oral presentation material
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities within virtual teams and multi-party environments.
  • SC cleared or the ability to become SC cleared.

Desirable:

Experience of working in MOD and with other Government Departments and Agencies

  • Preferably degree level education although significant experience and track record with tertiary qualifications.
  • DV cleared or the ability to become DV cleared.
