The opportunity
MBDA is the only European group capable of designing and producing missiles and associated systems able to meet the whole range of current and future needs of the three armed forces (land, sea and air). Growing export sales and the build-up of strategic partnerships outside Europe has propelled MBDA into the next phase of its exciting evolution as a world class Missile Company.
This is a fantastic opportunity within Europe’s leading missile and missile systems company for a software architect to join our software development team at either Stevenage or Bristol. You will be a technical leader working across a number of MBDA software domains bringing your skills and experience to deliver complex integrated weapon system software. The role involves building strong relationships with project and technical teams to ensure that the design solutions are aligned with those teams' objectives and the overall business strategy.
The work we undertake is complex, challenging and novel. It takes a range of professionals across the full engineering and commercial spectrum to carry it out. Whatever field our people specialise in, they all share the same mind-set: a drive to make things work better.

Working with technology at the forefront of European missile system design you will develop and enhance your capabilities using them to assist the development of safe, secure and reliable products that our customers rely on.
  • In this domain many of our products and components are the result of strong international collaboration; consequently, there may be the opportunity to travel both within the UK and to our sites in France, Italy and Germany.
  • We offer a supportive working environment with the opportunity to develop your skills across a broad range of products and technologies.
  • Your skills will be enhanced and developed through a mixture of project exposure and formal training.

    What’s great about the team?
You will be joining a team that continues to develop software operating some of the most advanced missile systems in the world. We apply small, focused teams of engineers to complex problems – you will be working with a highly talented group of enthusiastic experienced software, systems and electronics engineers on some very interesting and innovative products.
