The Scottish Trunk Road Network is the Scottish Ministers’ single biggest asset valued at circa. £20 billion.  It connects all parts of Scotland and its safe and efficient operation is fundamental to delivering the Scottish Government’s single purpose of sustainable economic growth.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join us as Head of Procurement and Commercial Branch with responsibility for the team that manages procurement, commercial and contractual issues on behalf of the Roads Directorate. This is one of the key business areas on which the successful delivery of the Directorate’s core objectives is dependent, and would suit an individual with experience of working in an infrastructure environment.

The post offers the opportunity to apply and develop a broad range of skills to ensure the successful delivery and management of contracts to safeguard the maintenance and improvement of the Scottish trunk road network.  It includes the opportunity to get involved in a variety of work streams and engage with both public and private sector colleagues to maximise the level of service and value of money attained from our contracts.

The current salary range for these posts is £46,889 – £57,503 (pro rata for part time). The role also currently attracts an annual Engineering pay supplement of £3000 (pro rata for part time). Supplements are subject to regular review.
