What’s the opportunity?
An opportunity has arisen for a Strategic HR Manager and Business Partner to support the senior management and HR team in Bristol, including the high-profile Engineering Directorate.
 What will you be doing?
  • You will be expected to work closely and demonstrate credibility with senior leadership to identify opportunities for improvement, coach and support managers and employees through employee relations matters and provide advice and support on specific issues
  • Your overarching aim is to help dedicated areas to deliver their business plan objectives which may mean implementing resourcing strategies and driving and facilitating improvement programmes in line with the company vision, mission and values.
  • You will also be accountable for ensuring international/national HR calendar activities are delivered within time and to quality within the dedicated business areas you are supporting
  • As part of the Site Leadership Team provide leadership to create the appropriate people strategies to help deliver the site objectives using best practice approaches
  • Lead all local HR activities in Bristol and deliver professional HR services to the site
  • Analyse the organisation, extract HR-related topics and set up a change management strategy if needed
  • Be a leader, a coach and a role model for all parties affected, therefore ensuring cooperation and support for your projects
  • Lead, coach and develop a small HR team in Bristol
  • To develop strong internal and external relationships which also include trade unions

Who and what we are looking for from you?
  • Degree qualified or equivalent and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development would be beneficial
  • Ability to travel regularly both nationally and internationally, at least twice per month with overnight stays. Flexibility needed.
  • Excellent practical knowledge and understanding of Employment Law
  • Ability to appreciate and understand complex organisational business problems and work within the international context
  • Strong consultancy problem solving, coaching and facilitation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Credible with senior leaders and colleagues
  • Self-motivated with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Good understanding of organisation design and development tools and processes
