Job Details
SOCOTEC is the UK's leading provider of testing, inspection and compliance services, with comprehensive solutions in Infrastructure & Energy and Environment & Safety. We’re currently looking for a skilled Technical Manager to join our growing Water Treatment business. If you’ve got the expertise to design brilliant new equipment, we’ll give you a crucial role and great opportunities to progress.
Your challenge
To give our customers the best possible service, we need the best equipment. As a Technical Manager, you’ll ensure that’s the case by designing new machinery and systems (or updating existing apparatus).
You’ll be working on a broad range of mechanical, electrical and software equipment. Whatever the project, you’ll maintain schematics, control R&D and oversee the build of new designs. It’s a chance to be at the very heart of the business in a high-profile role. You’ll support build programmes in tandem with project managers and see designs from conception to delivery.
You’ll also apply your valuable technical knowledge in other key areas. For example, you’ll help to create quotes for non-standard works and give technical advice to clients.
Your profile
While specific qualifications aren’t essential, you will need proven experience – ideally in electrical and mechanical design, and PLC programming. Got expertise in some but not all of these areas? We’d still like to hear from you, as expert training may be available. A background in Water Treatment would be particularly helpful, but it’s your ability to design and build high-performing equipment that will make your CV stand out. A credible expert who can work as part of a team, you’ll earn the respect of colleagues and thrive in a busy, central role.
If you’re the person we’re looking for, you can expect generous holidays, a company pension, high street shopping discounts and a promising future with SOCOTEC.
