Senior CAD Technician / Supervisor

Ocado have recently signed 4 high value and large scale international deals, we now focus on getting in the high calibre of staff needed to build and support the infrastructure around these and continue to change the way the world shops.

What will we expect of you?                                                     

To manage the day to day CAD Tech Team workload, ensuring all design standards are adhered to.

Working alongside the CAD Systems Supervisor to ensure all CAD systems, Templates, Blocks, Families, etc are correct.

What will I be doing?

  • Producing ‘engineering’ layouts at the detailed design phase.
  • Where appropriate, providing proposed and/or as-built equipment and infrastructure drawings for inclusion in Vendor designs.
  • Applying design knowledge and experience of MHE and MHE suppliers for input into mechanical design.
  • Being responsible for developing and maintaining Ocado CAD standards.
  • Ensuring/managing the CAD Tech Team are supporting the Design Integration Team on all Project needs and schedules.
  • Integrating externally produced component drawings into the main Ocado Engineering library (Vault).
  • Assisting colleagues with design queries.
  • Assisting the Concept Design Team with their SketchUp Models.

Work to and follow all CDM guidance, both external (CDM Regulations 2015 and associated Guidance L153) and internal (the Ocado CDM15 procedures and processes, HS&E policy and associated Arrangement Policies). To seek guidance from the HS&E team where there is uncertainty.    

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit 3D.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D.

Preferred (in addition to minimum)

  • An Autodesk training certificate in AutoCAD and/or Revit (Intermediate or above).
  • Knowledge other 3D CAD software e.g. Inventor, Solidworks, etc. would also be an advantage.
  • SketchUp.

Google Docs, MS Office experience.

Willing to carry out site visits throughout the UK and Overseas.
