SEND Utilities Distribution Manager
Grade 7: Salary in the range £33,199 to £40,792 per annum

This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a team of staff in Keele University’s Estates and Development Directorate.
You will have a key role in developing and maintaining the Site Utility Infrastructure operating procedures, including commissioning and decommissioning of 3rd party energy generation, storage and monitoring equipment.
Under the direction of the SEND Development Manager, you will develop, implement and manage the policies, procedures and responsibility schedules for managing and coordinating the distribution of energy, including storage, to facilitate the needs of the University and the users of the SEND.
You will manage and provide campus-wide Smart Energy Networking expertise to ensure compliance with all relevant utility distribution legislation, standards, and procedures including the life-cycle management of the SEND.
You will manage the acquisition of required information, including existing data sets, performance specifications and standards for technologies being connected to the Smart Energy Network Demonstrator, and support the design of system specification and implementation planning for research led interventions to the SEND. You will also prepare technical evaluations and appropriate impact statements and risk assessments of proposed technologies.
You will be educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering or Building services, or equivalent, with a good knowledge of mechanical, electrical and building services technologies and their impact on the work environment. An understanding of Smart Energy Networking and Distribution, and associated management and monitoring technologies and interfaces are essential, along with knowledge of current building regulations and approved documents.
You will also have experience of electrical mechanical building services, design, construction, and tender preparation, along with knowledge/experience of electrical engineering good practice procedures including the legal requirements.
In addition, you will have the ability to assess the condition of building services and produce programmes of maintenance and capital replacement, along with producing specification and tender documents.
The SEND projects, and the Utilities Distribution Manager, are part financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), as part of the England 2014 to 2020 European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) Growth Programme.
