The above full time post is available on a fixed term basis for two years in the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences. 

The KTP programme is a partnership between the University of Exeter and Supacat (part of SC Group Ltd).  You will be employed by the University of Exeter, but will spend the majority of your time working on this project at the company premises in Dunkeswell, near Honiton.

Supacat and the University of Exeter are working at the forefront of novel autonomous land vehicles for defence.  The College wishes to recruit an Integrated Systems Engineer (KTP Associate) in a unique, exciting opportunity to work as the KTP associate on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership between the University of Exeter and Supacat. This post is available for 2 years on an immediate basis.  

Supacat (part of SC Group Ltd) is an innovative engineering and design company providing global, defence, emergency services and energy sector products and services, with offices in the UK and Australia. The company is in a rural location but is close to Exeter and major transport links.   

The successful candidate will work closely with both the company and academic staff to develop an optionally-manned, high-mobility, all-terrain vehicle with autonomous features/functions, which will operate in harsh off-road environments. 

Prospective applicants must be able to quickly learn information and skills from research and professional sources, to enable them to integrate a range of sensor and control systems into the vehicle. Applicants will possess a BEng, MEng or Master's Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Control Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate a good understanding of integrated 'plug and play' systems and knowledge of the underlying communication aspects.
