ESM Power Limited is a growing Independent Connection Provider Company, providing services to High and Low Voltage Electrical Networks covering all aspects of the design, build, maintenance, repair and replacement of networks and utility connections. 

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Design Manager to join our expanding team.  Reporting to the Commercial Director, the postholder will lead electrical and civil engineering activities and take responsibility for the internal design team.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical and civil design engineering activities
  • Lead, manage and direct the engineering team in line with project requirements
  • Ensure delivery of all engineering KPI’s
  • Chair Engineering review meetings with design leads
  • Lead design reviews with internal and external stakeholders
  • Succession planning for the engineering team
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Commercial and Business Support teams to develop and deliver engineering activities
  • Management of internal and external stakeholders,
  • Production of reports for Directors on performance, delivery and development
  • Ensure adherence to quality, HSQE, budget and statutory standards

Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of electrical or related civil engineering management
  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Leadership and strong interpersonal skills
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Experienced in using AutoCAD. (Desirable experience with - Windebut and ERACS software)
  • Chartered Engineer
  • Hold a full, current Driving License

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven Management experience, having previously produced engineering designs from LV to 132kV
  • Commercially orientated with a proven track record of leading and supporting teams in a demanding customer focussed operational environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve challenging deadlines.

The role is nationwide, with a requirement to attend the Scunthorpe office 2 days per week.
