The Opportunity
The ISP organisation is responsible for procuring and managing the supply chain for direct and indirect products and services for both projects and the business. Total spend is approximately €500M per year across UK, France and Italy.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Electrical/Electronic team for a Supplier Performance Manager (SPM), implementing the company industrial policy and supply performance management approach.
 
The Rol
  • The objective of this key supplier performance management role is to achieve a high performing sustainable supply chain for MBDA by developing a capable supply base in order to ensure On Time, On Cost, On Quality (OTOCOQ) electrical/electronic sub-assembly deliveries as per the delivery plan.
  • The Supplier Performance Management role shall inform the business of supplier capability, strengths and weaknesses, manage further evaluation, risk assessment and undertake mitigation action through continuous improvement activities.
  • Working with a multifunctional team to support development and implementation of international sourcing strategies for various Electrical / Electronic categories.
  • Implement / maintain improvement plans of new & existing suppliers to improve performance and mitigate risks as required.
  • Contribute to contract reviews with a focus on scheduling taking into account MBDA needs and supplier capacity.
  • Manage the industrial validation of suppliers for new product development with the appropriate MBDA functions and set up validation plans for the production phase.
  • Ensure supplier industrial validation is maintained in compliance with the validation plan and take into account changes (Prod rate, stop & go, design, process, production location) throughout the product life cycle.
  • Monitor and analyse the supplier industrial performance (KPIs of On Time and On Quality) anticipating drifts and issues to ensure adherence to delivery schedule.
  • Analyse root causes of late deliveries and non-conformances and set up /manage the internal / external improvement actions.
  • Realise timely diagnosis of the supplier’s industrial process in instances of issues and implement corrective action / recovery plan as required.

    What are we looking for?
  • Experience of supplier performance management in the Aerospace or Defence Industry or similar environments with specific focus on supplier industrial performance.
  • Experience of electrical / electronic technologies and associated manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of risk management, identification, analysis, forecast and action planning.
  • Effective evaluation of suppliers business, technical, manufacturing, and design readiness
  • Expertise in relationship management tools and techniques.
  • Expertise in problem solving techniques, e.g. PFMEA.
  • Expertise in Business Excellence and Manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of Industrial Validation.
  • Professional accreditation and/or degree level education an advantage.
  • Engineering experience/ vocational qualifications an advantage.
  • Strong team skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A proactive & flexible approach to plan and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Team player with cultural sensitivity.
  • Able to work within a demanding and changing environment.
  • IT skills in terms of data analysis, manipulation and presentations.
  • Fluent in the English language.
  • Additional language skills would be an advantage (French, Italian, German).
