Our products are in a league of their own. And so is our team.

JCB is a world-class, family business. We are proud of our achievements and dedicated to looking after our people. One of the ways we do that is by providing out-of-this world opportunities: Engineering roles that involve international projects, variety and the chance to be involved from inception to production.

About Engineering at JCB

If you want fast-paced and innovative, you’ve come to the right place: as part of our Engineering team, you’ll be the talent behind our hugely successful global range. We’re leaders in our market – but we’re not content with this. Instead, we constantly strive to build better, smarter machinery, which has led to some amazing achievements: for example, our vehicles feature advanced systems and we’ve made it into the record books! With an engine designed by our expert team, the JCB DieselMax car is the proud holder of the world diesel land speed record. And that’s just one example of our Engineers’ varied remit. With the chance to get involved with different areas and travel abroad if required, you’re free to push the limits of your technical abilities in a fascinating field.

About your role

As part of a highly focused team, you’ll help to deliver electrical and electronic engineering across the JCB business. You’ll concentrate on assessing NPIP products against network / CAN standards; physically testing items such as bus loading. You’ll also have the chance to shape future standards and strategy, and to evaluate potential new network technologies. And at the same time, you’ll be supporting senior Compliance Engineers and maintaining status trackers. In short, you’ll be our resident NPIP expert, reviewing the electrical and electronic content of NPIP projects against deliverables.

About you

Ideally, you’ll bring a degree/HND (or equivalent) in an Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline or Computer Science. You’ll certainly have experience working with CAN network analysis tools such as Canalyser and the vector suite. Perhaps you gained this with a supplier or another large manufacturer, but whatever your background, you’ll have a firm grasp of different network standards (CAN, J1939), as well as vehicles’ electrical and data network systems. With this expertise, you’ll fix issues and carry out tests. And at the same time, you’ll support the team, working flexibly across Electronics and Electrical. If there are gaps in your knowledge, we’ll help you to up-skill. You therefore need to be hands-on, ready to learn and passionate about what you do. We look for adaptable, team-focused people who thrive in fast-paced settings and work with a sense of urgency.

Rewards and benefits

Our achievements – now and in the future – are down to our 14,000-strong worldwide workforce. To say thank you, we give everyone here career development and the chance to progress. We also pay great attention to employees’ health and welfare. You can expect medical insurance and dental care schemes, plus access to our healthy living centre. Naturally, this comes with a competitive salary, company pension and 33 days’ annual leave.

JCB is an equal opportunities employer. We value diversity and welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds.

To apply please email your CV to recruitment@jcb.com F.A.O. Alison Desborough and advise which role you are applying for

Recruitment agencies: JCB does not accept any speculative approaches to present candidates for advertised vacancies.

No closing date?  If so, that’s because we often only advertise until we have filled the position. It’s therefore best to submit your application as soon as possible.
