The DESG graduate scheme is a carefully structured but flexible training programme; enabling each graduate to get the most from a series of work placements (that includes placements with private industry). Through this unique scheme each graduate is able to further their professional development - making it possible for them to gain tremendous engineering or science experience and to achieve chartered status within just four years.

Our Team/Staff

DE&S is a bespoke trading entity and arm’s length body of the Ministry of Defence - equipping and supporting the UK armed forces with state of the art technology managing a vast range of complex projects to buy and support all the equipment and services that the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force need to operate effectively in their defence mission.

The DESG Graduate Scheme leads to careers in Engineering Management within the Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) organisation - working on projects that are fascinating, valuable, unique and sometimes highly classified.

THE FACTS

Your key over-arching responsibility with the DE&S will be to oversee industry in managing key elements of MOD’s major programmes to ensure that equipment is safe and effective.

To perform this role successfully, a DE&S Engineer must have the capacity to understand the complex engineering that underpins the equipment that it procures and supports. The DESG Graduate Scheme will support you as you train to gain the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to develop this capacity and reach your full potential as a professional Engineering Manager within the DE&S.
