The Opportunity 
A new opportunity has arisen to join a forward-looking and dynamic business development team. The UK S&BD Concepts and Technology team are responsible for providing leadership in shaping the future business of MBDA UK.  This new role is focused on developing and delivering the strategy for exploiting technologies being developed at a fast pace in the commercial sector.  You will have the opportunity to help shape and influence decision-making at senior levels on a wide range of projects.
 
The Role  
You will be part of the UK Sales and Business Development team working closely with project, technical and commercial function and accountable for developing the approach to the introduction of technologies and concepts being developed in the commercial sector.  As business lead for commercial technologies you will be responsible for developing new partnerships including with SMEs and academia to collaborate on these new technologies and further their development.
A key part of your role will be customer-facing with MoD and the Front Line Commands, and you will be expected to develop and maintain effective relationships and be a pro-active ambassador for MBDA.  Through these relationships you will shape and develop new business associated with new commercial technologies and concepts:

What are we looking for?  
  • Degree level qualification with experience in business development
  • Defence experience is not a pre-requisite for this role. We welcome applications from those with experience of revolutionary Technology from the automotive, telecoms, IT and other sectors
  • Required to have a level of understanding of the key features of a wide range of technologies to identify, together with our Technical Experts, opportunities for creating critical discriminators for MBDA.
  • Ability to bring support from stakeholders along with the programme: creating momentum, excitement and interest from internal and external stakeholders, initially in UK, then in Group.
  • Good communication skills to communicate, present and assert to multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in developing partnerships and collaboration with external bodies; this will include the ability to build relationships, influence and manage conflicts
  • A level of resilience to maintain focus on the longer term outcomes for the business
  • An analytical mind to establish where to invest and stay ahead of the competition
