Principal Project Engineer

Would you like to play a leading role in the delivery of spares for our most advanced submarine platforms? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Project Manager at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Principal Project Engineer, you will be working with multi-functional teams, including various internal teams, stakeholders and the customer to ensure data integrity for all submarine platform and combat systems spares.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in diverse and rewarding role, with different challenges each day.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Project Engineer will involve:

Monitoring a number of spares activities on a day to day basis to determine the current status on the contract

Generating and communicating a summary progress report to the senior management team within the Complex Systems & Support (CS&S) organisation on a weekly and monthly basis

Liaising with ILS, Supply Chain and the MoD to ensure effective contract delivery requirements are achieved

Interrogating company systems and data sets i.e. SAP, MLCC, DIPS etc. to enable equipment to be progressed

Leading and resolving issues as they arise with internal and external stakeholders

Prioritising own workload in order to meet the contract deadlines without compromising the quality of the defined outputs for accuracy

Your skills and qualifications:

Submarine Engineering background with ILS, Stakeholder management and Supply Chain knowledge

Ability to understand complex data including Engineering drawings, identify emerging issues and trends, supporting issues whilst expediting actions to a swift resolution

Proficient in the use of SAP, MLCC, CSIS, CRISP, DIPs etc.

Experience of working in a regulated environment
