We have an exciting opportunity for an Equipment Qualification Engineer to join our team in Warrington.

Our civil nuclear business provides nuclear reactor vendors and utility operators with integrated, long-term support services and solutions spanning the whole reactor lifecycle, from concept design through to obsolescence management and plant-life extension. Safety-critical systems have been supplied to around 50% of the global nuclear power plants in service and we've been a key player in the nuclear industry for more than 50 years.

As an Equipment Qualification Engineer, you will contribute to the development and delivery of qualified equipment that form part of complex and safety critical systems to meet client requirements. Providing technical, systems and project management expertise as required by Project and Capability Management, other stakeholder requirements and supporting the overall capability of the business to deliver such projects and products. Equipment Qualification refers to the process of documenting evidence that safety-related nuclear power plant equipment can perform their function(s) during and / or after normal, abnormal and accident conditions. Equipment that is designed to perform safety-related functions in nuclear plants is required to be qualified to operate under all specified service conditions.

Key Accountabilities:

Determine the requirements for equipment qualification based on the environmental conditions (harsh / mild environment qualification)

Apply appropriate EQ standards and recognised good practice.

Integrate EQ requirements with other system requirements applying systems engineering principles.

Develop and manage EQ plans and documentation.

Qualifications:

Appropriate Engineering or Science degree or equivalent.

Analytical and logical.

Good interpersonal skills. Good communicator with a wide range of stakeholders.

Experience of equipment qualification processes in nuclear or similar highly regulated environments.

Knowledge of EQ standards such as QME-1, IEC / IEEE 60780-323, IEEE 323-2003, IEEE 344-2013, BS IEC 69780:1998, IAEA SRS 3.

SC Clearance would be desired for this role but not essential.
