The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced strategic leader to work within the business in a new role to co-ordinate, oversee and manage the delivery of development PCB-A’s in a fast moving development environment; via both our internal facility and key external offload partnerships.
This role will require management and leadership skills across a number of core disciplines, including customers and suppliers, with the ability to influence others. 
 
  The Role
  • Working within the PCB-A Governance Team you will help define the sourcing strategy to deliver an effective and efficient route for prototype hardware and subsequent production build.You will then be responsible for the delivery of the hardware to achieve this strategy.
  • Managing the business function for the PCB-A facility you will develop strategies for future capability in consideration with Head of Prototype Capability and Electronics Engineering PCB-A Management team.
  • You will be responsible for engagement with customers, suppliers, design, procurement and manufacturing teams to ensure requirements are fully captured
  • Maintain and build relationships with external suppliers, developing future strategies and agreements to support MBDA’s business needs.
  • Primarily accountable for the rapid delivery of hardware for PCB-A (CCA) requirements during the development phase, working closely with Manufacturing (Stevenage and Bolton), Electronic Engineering, Equipment and ISP (procurement) teams.
  • Create and develop robust and responsive relationships within the Electronic Engineering team to understand their requirements and provide guidance on the process for manufacture of PCB-A’s.
  • Management of PCB-A workload ensuring activities are planned and delivered within acceptable/agreed timescales, supporting any follow on integration activities.
  • Responsible for working with Procurement and Manufacturing teams to optimise processes and opportunities.
  • Responsible for working with the series Production team at Bolton to ensure development proving activities are co-ordinated during the development phase to support the transition to the series production venue.
  • Creation of robust estimates to support activities.
  • Accurate reporting of activities for both internal and customer needs.

   What are we looking for?
  • Experienced and ambitious Manager/Lead with a proven track record in defining strategies.
  • Experience of supporting the delivery of complex products and manufacturing support within a high profile manufacturing environment.
  • Enthusiastic, pro-active and tenacious individual who can prioritise and understand strategic business needs as well as managing the day-to-day tactical decisions.
  • A natural communicator, able to build strong relationships, with experience at driving multi-functional teams and delivering to tight time-scales.
  • Experience within an engineering or production environment would be of preference.
  • PCB-A technical background is preferred but not essential, but good management skills to collaborate across departments are required.
  • Demonstrates company values to help promote this new capability within the company and influence/enhance its delivery reputation across the business.Also required to maintain and develop relationships with key suppliers.
