Job Details

A refreshingly different career!

We are doing much more than supplying crucial water and water recycling services, we are developing new and sustainable ways of working, and challenging the way people think about water through our Love Every Drop campaign. Help us to deliver our message and embrace the challenges that we face, as we ensure Anglian Water is a water company fit for the future.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for Electrical Technicians to join the team at Anglian Water in Huntingdon, Grantham, Colchester and Northampton!

No day will be the same in this crucial role; you’ll keep all kinds of equipment at our Water Treatment Works operating correctly and reliably. Carrying out planned maintenance and responding promptly to issues and incidents, you’ll use your current electrical knowledge and be responsible for the day-to-day operation of water supply assets – including water treatment works, reservoirs, towers and pumping stations.

You’ll complete an extensive training programme to learn how to operate a complex water treatment plant. Once trained you’ll investigate and diagnose complex faults, carry out repairs in order to maintain and optimise our assets for peak performance, including the installation of new equipment.

What do you need?

The role would suit a qualified electrical technician with the ability and ambition to train in all aspects of water treatment works operation, maintenance and optimisation.

You’ll need to have the minimum of an Indentured Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, related City and Guilds Pts 1 & 2 in electrical or relevant ONC / BTEC.

A key aspect of this role is your behaviours and your ability to develop great working relationships.

Experience of working with water assets and water processes, including fault finding and maintenance on instrumentation, pumps, actuators and chemical dosing is an advantage.

As an organised team player, you’ll embrace the extensive training programme that will enable you to develop a rewarding career and be the best you can be.

You’ll need a flexible approach to working hours as once you have undertaken training you will be required to participate in a standby rota in order to provide 24 hour operational service throughout your local area– you will receive additional payment for this on top of your basic salary. In order to be able to undertake your standby duties you will need to live within 40 minutes of your base location.
