A Strong Engineering Consultancy and System Integration Solutions company based in Guildford, Surrey Technology Centre. (Projects based in Surrey, London, Cambridge and Aberdeen, Europe)

Self-motivated, well-organised and quick learner looking for long-term opportunity with blue-chip clients and to help deliver newly won contracts of >£500

The ideal candidate has current and extensive experience of developing and building novel products and applications.

Job Description:
Exciting opportunity for Systems Engineer (Software/Hardware) to work on innovative client facing and/or Research & Development (R&D) projects in established fast growing small business. You will collaborate with other experienced engineers to develop innovative solutions for blue-chip clients.

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum BSc Honours degree in Engineering or related fields - Ideally First or Upper
  • Second Class
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional qualities and achievement
  • Ability and enthusiasm to absorb new ideas and learn quickly

Skills:

  • Project Management (MS Project)
  • Programming experience (DOORS database, SQL/MySQL, Python)
  • Data Acquisition software (LabView/LabWindows CVI) and hardware platforms
  • Analytical and Project Lifecycle Systems Engineering skills

Required experience: Industry: 0-7 years

    Expertise in engineering techniques such Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Prediction using MIL-HBK-217 and Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD).

  • RISK ASSESSMENT for example using Markov Analysis
     
  • SPECIALIST IT CONSULTANCY AND IMPLEMENTATION
    Specialist bespoke software development projects from requirements analysis and design through to implementation, installation and support.

  • ASSET MANAGEMENT using predictive rcm2 TECHNOLOGY
    Expertise in Reliability-Centred Maintenance and Remote Condition Monitoring Technology and Solutions.

  • SAFETY CASE DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE
    Expertise in organising and facilitating HAZID/HAZOP, hazard log initiation and management, safety case notations and safety requirements and standards in various safety-critical industry sectors (e.g. Defence Standard 00-56, Rail Standard EN50126). 

We provide customised and in-house training courses in any of the above areas. We are a member of the Link-Up Supply Chain Certification to the Rail Industry in a number of product groups. 
New Products In October 2003, we launched a novel Integrated Safety Case Development Environment (ISCaDE) product, developed under a DTI SMART Award. ISCaDE has now won many customers world-wide with support from UK DTI Passport to Export scheme administered by Business Link Surrey.
