Would you like to work in a team who provide support to the UK Royal Navy's submarine fleet? We currently have a vacancy for a Mechanical Engineer at our site in Broad Oak
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be working within the under-water sector being responsible for the design, development and support of electro-mechanical systems and sub systems for torpedo products to meet business needs.
Mechanical Engineers are responsible for a wide range of activities including feasibility studies, research, design, development and post design services involving the full engineering lifecycle so this an interesting and varied role where there's opportunity to develop current skills.
Your main responsibilities as a Mechanical Engineer will involve:
Delivering electro-mechanical design solutions to agreed time, cost and quality to meet project or business milestones.
Drafting, vetting and editing technical reports or other documents in order to ensure that technical findings can be successfully communicated with recipients.
Preparation and submission of technical proposals and tenders as directed by bid manager in order to provide costed proposals for future work.
Liaising with the MOD establishments, test facilities, sub-contractors and customers as required to satisfy the needs of the Project or the business
Providing supervision of undergraduates or young persons assigned for training to assist in the development of their knowledge and skills
Ensuring that work is undertaken in accordance with Company, Safety, Environmental, contractual and local business processes standards, procedures and documentation.
Your skills and qualifications:
Degree within a relevant discipline or equivalent experience is required
Electro - Mechanical experience
Demonstrate the competencies required of Chartered and/or Incorporated Engineer
PDM (product data management) experience
Knowledge of an engineering lifecycle
Experience of Creo/Pro-engineer 3D CAD or similar package

Working with minimal supervision you'll be comfortable making decisions and working to tight timescales with the ability to prioritise tasks. You will need excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information to a range of both internal and external stakeholders.
