We currently have a vacancy for an Estimating & Pricing Analyst at our site in Scotstoun.
As an Estimating & Pricing Analyst, you will take ownership of the estimates you develop including being responsible for the creation, timeliness, accuracy, solution alignment and the successful delivery of the estimate to the Customer. This role will include leading on the creation of complex labour, material, risk and uncertainty cost estimates in support of Value-for-Money propositions, Contract Amendments and Estimates at Completion
This role will provide you with the opportunity to be an important member of the community across the corporation and you will be able to adapt corporate estimating processes to suit local requirements. The candidate may be responsible for a small team of Estimators and be able to ensure consistent and accurate performance. They may also be asked to deputise as required for the Estimating Manager.
Your main responsibilities as Estimating & Pricing Analyst will involve:
Leading on the creation of complex labour, material, risk and uncertainty cost estimates in support of value-for-money propositions
Contract amendments and estimates at completion
Work with and support the Control Account Managers and Supply Chain in maintaining a detailed basis of estimate narrative in support of changes as well as identifying any dependencies, assumptions, risks, exclusions and opportunities
Using analytical and parametric techniques to check and challenge estimate inputs and to ensure that current information remains in line with the maturing design information
Taking the lead on responding to queries on cost by both the Customer and by 3rd parties and be able to identify future cost issues and savings
Your skills and qualifications as Estimating & Pricing Analyst:
Extensive knowledge or work experience of estimating & pricing, or a similar analytical role
Professional knowledge and experience of estimating & pricing principles, techniques and practices, and understanding how the role fits into the organisation as a whole
Proven experience in data analytics and statistics
Thorough understanding of the end to end estimating process
Knowledge of the ProPricer or SEER software packages will be beneficial
Knowledge of the global shipbuilding industry and key players and competitors in the defence market is an advantage.
