Cyber Researcher
Would you like to work in an exciting and critical role within the applied intelligence sector? We currently have a vacancy for a Cyber Researcher at our site in Great Baddow
The Experimental Cyber group of BAE Systems Applied Intelligence Laboratories (AI Labs) is currently recruiting cyber security engineers. This group focusses on conducting cybersecurity research and experimentation on a wide range of computer technologies for customer across the defence, national security and commercial sectors. A successful applicant taking on the role will be expected to undertake diverse technology research projects, both independently and as part of teams of engineers, whilst demonstrating an aptitude for proactively developing the required knowledge and skills for tackling challenging and unfamiliar topics.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on new projects. There may also be opportunities to lead and manage technical projects, depending on the level of experience
Your main responsibilities as a Cyber Researcher will involve:
Initially responsible for project delivery, within the budget
Networking with universities and customers to ensure the network
Researching, evaluating, and experimenting with assorted computer technologies.
Developing innovative new cybersecurity technologies and tools
Delivering technical presentations
Writing technical reports
Contributing to project planning and technical proposals
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential Skills
Accredited science, technology, engineering or mathematics degree
Software programming and development
Penetration testing
Applied cybersecurity
Applied cryptography
Reverse engineering
Cyber vulnerability assessment and exploitation
Security engineering and secure computer architectures
Desirable skills
CEng or CPhys
A recognised cybersecurity qualification such as CPSA, CRT, CISSP, CEH
What we're looking for in you:
You will have strong communication skills and have the ability in writing technical reports. You will have excellent time management skills and have strong team work skills as well as work on their own initiative
Location: Great Baddow
Salary: £35,000.00 DOE
