Senior Hardware FPGA Engineer

Would you like to be a member of a dedicated expert team responsible for the design and verification of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA)? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Hardware FPGA Engineer at our site in Rochester.


This role will provide you with the satisfaction of being a key part of our integrated development team for our range of leading-edge flight control products, mission computers, head mounted and head up displays.


Your main responsibilities as a Senior Hardware FPGA Engineer will involve:

Providing technical expertise in the development and delivery of FPGA development from requirements development, concept and detailed design, coding VHDL, synthesis and through to complete verification

Understanding of FPGA design impacts on wider product engineering disciplines

Managing own tasks within schedules and budgets to meet programme needs

Delivering design artefacts in support of company standards


Your skills and qualifications:

Demonstrable practical experience and knowledge of FPGA technologies, development tools and techniques

Experience in working in small teams through development lifecycle, with good appreciation of cost and schedule constraints on designs

Proven experience of digital hardware circuits design with FPGAs

Working knowledge and experience of SysML, Matlab and Simulink would be an advantage.
Proven experience and knowledge of video processing and control law algorithms would be an advantage

Working knowledge & experience of UVM, constrained random verification would also be an advantage.

Cost, schedule and EV Management would be an advantage

Working knowledge of design for high integrity systems - RTCA/DO-254 would be desirable

Working with other disciplines within a team to optimise solutions and minimise impacts from dependencies. You will have the ability to deliver to tight timescales and budgets.
