Test Technician (Electronics)

Would you like a chance to work in a state-of-the-art electronics environment on both civil and military platforms? We currently have a vacancy for a Test Technician (Electronics) at our site in Rochester.

As a Test Technician (Electronics), you will be part of an integrated manufacturing team, testing product to set target times within the project schedule. There may be some migration of this skill into other Technician disciplines such as inspection, fitting and/or wiring.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting products and exposure to dealing with complex electronic interfaces. We have the widest product portfolio of products throughout BAE Systems.

Your main responsibilities as a Test Technician (Electronics) will involve:

Carrying out testing and fault-finding on a variety of new and mature analogue and digital electronics products such as Pilot Displays, Flight Controls and Flight Computers

Fault-finding to component level using appropriate circuit diagrams and test equipment when a failure is identified

Recognising target and turnaround times and maintaining compliance to each

Maintaining good standards of housekeeping

Your skills and qualifications:

  • The ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams

  • Testing and fault-finding experience

  • IT Literate

What we're looking for in you:

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as being very thorough and detailed. You will be hard working with a can do attitude and have the ability to work tight time scales You will be conversant in workshop practices, quality standards, disciplines and work collaboratively with others, building positive relationships and working responsibly but not independently.

Salary: £25,700+ (night shift/ twilight shift/ rotating shift patterns also available with significant uplifts)
