The Opportunity
 
An opportunity has arisen for a Test Equipment Development Technician to be part of a highly skilled team that develops Test Equipment for all of MBDA’s products. This role encompasses a broad spectrum of engineering technologies offering the right candidate challenges not only in their core discipline, but also scope for growth and career development.
 
The Role
  • Supporting the development of Test Equipment to be applied across a wide spectrum of technologies including Missile Computers, Actuation Systems, Data Links, Telemetry Systems
  • Proving that developed Test Equipment meets the Technical Requirement
  • Supporting the integration of Test Equipment to the Unit Under Test and proving that it meets its functional/operational requirements
  • Supporting existing Test Equipment used in a wide variety of situations (possibly including live missile testing) to maintain high end capability
  • Developing an understanding of Test Equipment Design for PCB, Equipment, System and Missile applications
  • Providing support to Test Equipment project teams in their delivery to customers.

  • The UK Test Equipment team is a multi-disciplined dynamic, focussed and agile team of about 100 engineers specialising in all aspects of Test Equipment design, including specialisation on hardware, software and embedded real-time systems.These skills are located together in one plateau providing an atmosphere of supportive cooperation and interdependence that binds the team together to face the challenges of the future 
 
What are we looking for?
  • Ideally HNC qualified in a relevant electronics / electrical discipline.
  • You will have experience in operation and structure of test solutions
  • Experience in a production support role is an advantage, but not essential
  • You will have some familiarity with some of the Test Techniques used on RF, Analogue, Digital, Optical, Comms, functional test and ESS processes
  • You will be enthusiastic with a willingness to learn and be keen to push yourself.
  • You will acknowledge your own capabilities and seek guidance where needed.
  • You will be a good communicator, both written and verbally
  • You will have good problem solving skills and the ability to contribute positively to engineering investigations
