Programme Planning Manager

Would you like to work with the delivery of Programme Planning support team to the Heads of Programme for Boat? We currently have a vacancy for a Programme Planning Manager at our site in Barrow.

As a Programme Planning Manager, you will be responsible for the on time and on cost delivery of the Astute Class Submarine Boats. This delivery is enabled through the deployment of Project Control System Processes to develop and Manage Baseline Plans, and to monitor & control to support delivery of the Astute Class Boats

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work for the Astute Class Submarines which are highly complex products which require Project Management, Planning, Monitoring and Control to support on time on cost delivery to the Customer.


Your main responsibilities as a Programme Planning Manager will involve:


Responsible for ensuring the Health & Safety of all your employees and that your area operates in accordance with Company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures

To lead, develop and motivate a team of planners to achieve their work programme, and meet all performance measures (cost schedule, quality and safety), through a clear emphasis on performance and skills development

Responsible for the development and management of any programme plans and the production of analysis, metrics and reports against which performance can be measured

Ensure the plan adheres to a defined build strategy/sequence and identify and opportunities for improvement
Develop and maintain project plans and budgets

Develop and maintain resource plans; liaise with functional management on resource capability and utilisation

Create and support activities in response to any baseline/engineering change requests

Provide Planning advice to senior programme managers and directors to support decision making and development of the programme

Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure agreement to plans across multi-functional areas, through timely communication and engagement

Support and maintain the IWT structure including the encouragement and maintenance of continual improvement of the process

Ensure projects are planned in accordance with the Submarines Planning Policy

Act as LCM Assessor for Planning

Responsible for ensuring the Health & Safety of all your employees and that your area operates in accordance with Company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures

Understanding requirements for quality planning

Use and understanding of SAP functionality
