QC Teamleader

Would you like to work in a Quality Control tea, forming part of the Quality Function? The team will support the CYC General Manager in delivery of Dreadnought. We currently have a vacancy for a QC Teamleader at our site in Barrow.

As a QC Teamleader, you will be accountable for delivering the Quality Inspection requirements of Boat units as part of the submarine build programme this involves understanding the Quality requirements, the schedule and priorities and ensuring the provision of an inspection service in line with the above. The role is also accountable for ensuing that high quality records are produced as an output of inspection.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to be part of a team that has responsibility for inspection across the build phase and the diversity of the Stakeholder group and the complexity of the product make this a very challenging and interesting role.


Your main responsibilities as a QC Teamleader will involve:

Day to day management of the inspection teams

Deliveries of the required records to support the key build milestones

Supporting the General Manager and Build teams in improving their quality performance and culture

Communicate effectively with the team, management and both internal and external customers
To help support and maintain the IWT structure including the encouragement and delivery of a continual improvement ethos

Deploying the applicable Quality Management System and SH&E documentation to your team ensuring they have both a thorough understanding of the content, risks and control measures and can ultimately demonstrate their competence to apply them



Your skills and qualifications:

Essential Skills
Related Engineering or Manufacturing Background
Broad Understanding of Quality Inspection Techniques
Good IT skills in particular Microsoft Office and SAP
Understanding quality requirements within a highly regulated engineering

Desired Skills
Problem solving and Root Cause Analysis
Auditing and Investigation experience within Quality
