Lead Systems Engineer- Weapon Planning System
Job Details
An opportunity has arisen within the Mission Planning solution to support a development with one of MBDA's in service products, we are looking for a passionate engineer to lead a team of engineers to deliver.
The Role
The Weapon Planning System Lead owns all of the functional and physical design and validation of the Weapon Planning System Lead responsible for:
- Managing the Weapon Planning System physical and functional design studies including trades-offs
- Defining and flowing down the requirements of the associated software and hardware.
- Defining and managing the validation plan
- Leading the systems team
- Planning and controlling the work and resources of the team
- Support the team in their relationship with internal and external suppliers (Technical Requirement Specification negotiation, acceptance of outputs/deliveries, compliance with time, cost and quality)
- Negotiate interface and Weapon Planning System requirements and associated validation plan with the customer
- Deliver and manage acceptance of relevant technical reports to the customer
- Rapidly gain experience of the full product development lifecycle
- There are opportunities for travel to MBDA sites in the UK and Europe, and to customer sites around the world
- Multiple development paths, both technical and managerial

- Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline
- Solid team leadership skills
- Substantial analytical and problem solving skills
- Sound understanding of the product development process (including Requirement negotiation, System Design, System Test, Integration,Certification, Delivery, Training and support)
- Good verbal and written communications
- Ability to represent MBDA effectively with the Customer, User and supplier community.
- Sound understanding of System Engineering Process (including awareness of System and Sub-System Specification, System Test and Integration)
- Experience in tools for Requirements Capture and Control (DOORS) and Configuration Management (Dimensions or RTC) is desirable
- Experience of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML is desired
