Faculty / Directorate
The Estates & Commercial Services Directorate is large and diverse, employing circa 300 people, ranging from plumbers, electricians, carpenters, cleaners, porters, leisure centre assistants to property management professionals, architects, project officers, CAD, space management, sustainability and energy and administrative personnel.
Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Head of Maintenance. Reporting to the Head of Maintenance, this role will manage staff, external contractors and consultants in order to ensure that all building and engineering assets are maintained and compliant to legislative requirements.
Ideal Candidate
You must hold an HND or approved equivalent in Building Services/Engineering and have extensive experience on a wide range of building services plant and equipment along with the knowledge of Health and Safety legislative compliance requirements related to the role. Whilst being proactive in your approach you will need to be a self-motivated individual with the ability to prioritise works to achieve deadlines and have the skills to supervise and develop the maintenance team, with good communication skills within a customer facing team.
