Engineering Manager - Process Development (Specialist Infrastructure)

This is an exciting time to come and join the team at BAE Systems Submarines, as we work to improve and modernise the facilities and the working environment to deliver affordable, world-class submarines.

We currently have a vacancy for Engineering Manager - Process Development (Specialist Infrastructure) at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

You will be based on a shipyard which is undergoing a large scale redevelopment project. As a member of the Engineering function, you will be able to influence and shape the future of Engineering. BAE Systems is the only manufacturer of Submarines within the UK, providing you with a unique opportunity to work within a company with an interesting and extremely complex product.

Your main responsibilities as an Engineering Manager - Process Development (Specialist Infrastructure) will involve;

In conjunction with Site Engineering and other functions as necessary and on behalf of the Engineering Function:

Define and implement the Maritime Submarines (MS) Engineering Specialist Infrastructure strategy.

Ensure the Specialist Infrastructure strategies are an integral and aligned with the wider Engineering Function strategy, incorporating people, technology and infrastructure. Liaise closely with the Engineering Domain leads and stakeholders in each of these areas.

Develop & manage development the requirements for specialist infrastructure in line with Engineering strategy and Domains needs. This shall ensure there is a robust definition of requirements in place, that is able to drive the delivery in the appropriate functions.

Lead and manage a pan MS Engineering Specialist Infrastructure Integrated Working Team (IWT) responsible for defining and delivering the capability related Engineering functional objectives, as agreed with the Engineering Management Committee

Interface with relevant functional leadership to ensure alignment with the umbrella Site Master Plan and drive consistent delivery of capability to the function.

Your skills and qualifications as an Engineering Manager - Process Development (Specialist Infrastructure):

Engineering or Operations Background is essential

Experience with Definitions of Infrastructure requirements; able to define and be part of a project

Ability to gather information in a timely and accurate manner and report findings

Maritime - Submarines
