Business Development Manager - Electrical Engineering

Would you like the opportunity to lead a business into new sectors? We currently have a vacancy for a Business Development Manager - Electrical Engineering at our site in Rochester, Kent. The BAE Systems Power & Propulsion Solutions (PPS) business unit seeks an experienced, technically savvy heavy duty electric propulsion veteran, with experience in the bus and/or truck sectors.

As a Business Development Manager - Electrical Engineering, you will be will be responsible for delivering the profitable sales growth we need to help us meet our long term business aspirations in the rapidly growing heavy duty vehicle electrification sector. As our face in the European market you will have a crucial role in driving the creation of the strategy that will enable this growth. The successful applicant will be responsible for the early identification of emerging market trends and technologies, as well as establishing the routes to market that will be required if we are to be successful. Underpinning this will be your proven track record of communicating complex solutions in a timely and effective manner.

This role will provide you with the scope to take existing and new products to not only current markets, but also allow you to identify new markets to grow the business area into.

Your main responsibilities as a Business Development Manager - Electrical Engineering will involve:

* Deliver on our long-range business commitment for profitable sales growth in Europe through the identification and qualification of new business opportunities, within both existing and new adjacent Heavy Duty markets
* Establish the relationships we need to enable the planned sales growth - to include platform manufacturers, systems and component suppliers, and operators
* Ensure that BAE Systems has a clear and respected brand presence in all relevant market sectors
* Provide product and capability requirements to the PPS Design Centre in a coherent and timely manner, ensuring we have the right products available at the right time and price
* Produce competitive proposals containing compelling procurement rationale, technical solutions and pricing quotations

Your skills and qualifications:

* A strong track record of driving business growth in the European Heavy Duty on-road propulsion sector
* Demonstrated understanding of Heavy Duty vehicle electric propulsion solutions
* The ability to establish and maintain strong, board- and senior-level relationships
* Experience working within a large, multi-national market environment
* Demonstrated ability to work globally within different sectors and cultures
* Proven ability to motivate, influence, and manage people effectively

You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be highly self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.


Location: Rochester, Kent however Extensive travel will be required, potentially greater than 50% of the time, based on business requirements
