Job Details

At FCO Services, your work will mean more. Government-level customers in the UK and around the world rely on us to keep information, assets and people safe. Join us, as part of our Secure Building Services team, and you can play a key part in that work, contributing to a wide range of M&E projects and programmes that help our customers meet the challenges of a constantly changing world.

Practise your profession around the world

While based in Milton Keynes, much of your time will be spent working overseas, where you'll not only have the chance to work on some unique and iconic buildings, but also experience your profession across a range of different cultures. The work itself will focus largely on installations to diplomatic buildings, and you'll have a crucial role to play at every stage in the process.  After drafting tender documents and completing the necessary surveys, you'll go on to produce bespoke security design solutions, including calculations, drawings and specifications of work. And from there, you'll oversee the installation itself, managing the work of both third-party contractors and our own in-house installation teams.

Take your engineering skills to another level

To rise to the challenge, you'll need a relevant M&E engineering qualification, and plenty of practical contract, site and project management experience.  From a technical standpoint, you should be fully up to speed with the latest mechanical and electrical systems – including small power, lighting, UPS, fire alarms and HVAC. But every bit as important will be personal qualities you bring to the role. First and foremost, you'll need to be a strong communicator and a natural collaborator, because as well as working on an individual basis you'll often be part of a multi-disciplinary team. A flexible approach is also essential, as are strong leadership skills and a keen eye for detail.

And make a real impact in the UK and overseas

Our customers, who include the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, look to us to respond with speed, agility and innovation to their ever-changing security challenges. This gives every job at FCO Services added significance. Yours included. After all, the projects and programmes you’ll be working on will help to ensure the safety and security of government employees all over the world.

All our employees have to be security cleared to the highest level, so you will need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining.
