Systems Engineering Delivery Manager

How would you like to play a key role in the delivery of systems engineering activities on the Type 26 frigate programme and, in so doing, the transformation of systems engineering practices across Naval Ships? If you would, then we currently have a vacancy for a Systems Engineering Delivery Manager based from our sites in either Scotstoun or Filton.

As a Systems Engineering Delivery Manager, you will be leading a team of highly capable systems modelling specialists and systems safety analysts to lead the design integration of Marine Systems on Type 26 and provide demonstrable assurance on the overall Type 26 design.

This role will give you with the opportunity to provide strategic leadership and direction to the deployment of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) across Naval Ships as well as the deployment of novel techniques in systems safety across one of the world's most cutting edge maritime programmes.

Your main responsibilities as a Systems Engineering Delivery Manager will involve:

Leading the integration of Marine Systems on Type 26 through the roll-out of Model Based Systems Engineering,

Leading and coaching a team of systems modelling specialists to develop Marine Systems integrated functional model (structural, behavioural and control) using SysML,

Leading and coaching a team of systems safety specialists to provide support development of the Safety Case for the integrated Marine Systems design,

Leading the continued transformation of marine engineering and the adoption of systems engineering practices;

Establishing the policies, processes and capability requirements for MBSE and working with the wider Engineering community to ensure that these are implemented.

Your skills and qualifications:

Experience managing engineering teams and interfacing with a wide range of stakeholders,

Comprehensive knowledge of systems engineering and systems lifecycle management,

Knowledge of complex system modelling using SysML,

Experience in complex system-of-systems integration programmes,

Knowledge of warship design processes and inter-relationships would be advantageous but not essential.
