Supply Chain Engineer - New Product Introduction

Would you like to play a key role in the design and development of avionic products? We currently have a vacancy for a Supply Chain Engineer at our site in Rochester.

You will support the delivery of multiple complex manufacturing supply projects. The products are primarily low volume complex electro-mechanical assemblies. You will act as a key interface with our Suppliers, key technical and programme stakeholders to understand capability, process issues and solve problems within our supply chain.

The role will give you the opportunity to develop your experience of supply chain, while still utilising your engineering knowledge working on a variety of products within an interesting product line. Your main responsibilities as a Supply Chain Engineer - New Product Introduction will involve:

Reviewing new designs whilst in development phase

Providing technical leadership within the Supply Chain

Be the technical bridge between Supply Chain and Engineering

Utilising lean and six sigma techniques to improve supplier performance

Leading product based root cause investigations

Developing, maintaining and enhancing manufacturing processes

Undertaking audits within the Supply Chain - Preparation/Execution/Reporting/Improvement feedback

Your skills and qualifications as a Supply Chain Engineer - New Product Introduction:

Essential:

Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Manufacturing

Ability to identify a problem, obstacle, or opportunity and take action

Ability to travel

Desirable

Experience in an Engineering discipline, with a Mechanical and or Electrical bias

Experience in DFM and New Product Introduction

Experience in business improvement techniques

Experienced in product based root cause analysis

Familiar with Quality Management System standards and auditing

Familiar with product lifecycle phases and management
