Senior Quality Engineer
We have an opportunity to work as a Senior Quality Engineer based in Portsmouth Navy Base, the home of the Royal Navy.
The successful candidate will act as primary focal point in Warship Support for providing assurance of the integrity of the product and service deliverables.
Your main responsibilities will involve:
Provide quality planning support to projects through bid and mobilisation
Deliver Technical Assurance to the Warship Support delivery providing confidence that products and services conform to the approved data and have been produced IAW processes approved for use by the business stream.
Provide full and effective support, in assigned areas of Quality activity, to the business and projects i.e. audits, process management, coaching & training.
Provision of causal analysis of non-conformances, verification of corrective actions and provide recommendations for improvement and appropriate inclusion of LfE.
Use your knowledge and experience to support investigations
Facilitate and liaise with key stakeholders and process owners in non-conformance resolution and corrective actions.
Support ISO9001 certification activity
Your skills and qualifications:
Degree Qualified in an appropriate technical discipline or equivalent experience
Be a quality professional, at least Lead Auditor status or equivalent experience
Have a fully developed working knowledge of Quality Control; control charts, route cards, SPC, Certificates of Conformity, concessions and waivers, factory/site acceptance, First Article, etc.
Experience of coordinating and influencing large teams
Business Change experience/knowledge
Have a fully developed working knowledge of marine and defence standards and ships classification desirable
Have knowledge of and experience of product safety and integrity advantageous
