Job Details

E-Serve is the delivery arm of Ofgem, the regulator of Britain’s gas and electricity markets, and is helping to shape the future of the energy market – delivering better energy efficiency through renewable energy sources, and protecting the interests of energy consumers. If you choose to be part of our team you can expect plenty of opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience, with the professional support you need to reach your full potential.

As a senior manager, you will be the technical lead on the development of environmental schemes, such as the Energy Company Obligation, which aims to reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty. You will manage a small team delivering multiple projects, providing technical expertise where required to assist with operations, counter fraud, reporting and administration on areas such as industry standards and scoring methodologies, energy systems and insulation, as well as other technical aspects of the schemes. It involves close engagement with colleagues and with a range of external stakeholders - including industry innovators - creating opportunities to analyse complex data, identify trends and impact on future policy around renewable and energy efficient technology.

Your background could be academia, supply chain or engineering – in every case; you will have gained an excellent, in-depth knowledge of energy efficiency, renewable technologies and the Government’s climate change programme. You must have the expertise to engage with technical issues, understand their far-reaching impact and lead the discussion on how Ofgem can engage with and influence change in this important area. A proven track record in policy implementation and service delivery is essential, with outstanding stakeholder management, communication and engagement skills.

Ofgem can offer you a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which includes:

  • Up to 30 days’ annual leave
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • The opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements, which include a valuable range of benefits
  • Flexible working hours and family friendly policies
  • Restaurant and subsidised gym (London location only)
  • Interest free season ticket loan.
